The first Welsh Home was founded in 1919 on Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights by The Ladies Auxiliary of the Welsh Society of Cleveland, Ohio, now known as the Women's Welsh Clubs of America. With a commitment to helping people who could no longer care for themselves, the home was soon filled and the search began for more land and larger quarters. A suitable property was found on the west side of Cleveland in the then rural community of Rocky River. The Rocky River home, described at the time as having nine bedrooms, two living rooms, and five bathrooms, as well as six cows, calves, a bull and a horse, with an orchard and garden, became the second Welsh Home with its opening in 1922. In 1953, the original farm house was razed and construction of the present Welsh Home began. We met recently with Administrator Marilyn Davis, and listened as she provided this overview of The Welsh Home's services and offerings;
